The Septuagint (LXX) provides us with some wonderful insights into the Old Testament, especially regarding Jesus. The Old Testament points to Jesus (John 5:39). Since the LXX was translated from the paleo-Hebrew in 285 BC, there was no animosity toward Christ or Christianity. As a result, the verses and passages from the Old Testament were not tampered with in an effort to blunt their obvious reference to Christ, as took place when the Masoretic Text was translated into modern Hebrew between 600 and 1000 AD. This becomes obvious when texts and passages are compared side by side, which I have attempted to do in the articles below. I hope that reading and studying the Septuagint causes the Old Testament scriptures to come alive in a fresh new way for you, just as happened to me.
