There is no proof that the earth is a rotating globe revolving around the sun. We only have observations and explanations built on presuppositions, if we exclude the counterfeit evidence from NASA that is offered as proof. I have written another article documenting reasons no one should trust NASA.
Before you categorically dismiss my previous statement as sheer lunacy, please bear with me and continue reading. Astrophysics, by definition, is the observation of distant objects in the heavens, which we cannot visit or examine for ourselves, notwithstanding NASA’s claims to the contrary. Therefore, every theory about how the cosmos works is begins with accepting an unprovable presupposition. For millennia, most people accepted the biblical explanation of things. Since the Scientific Revolution, most Westerners believe the theories of modern astrophysics.
Regardless of whether you believe the Bible or modern astrophysics, all claims regarding the shape of the earth and the nature of the heavens are explanations of observed phenomena combined with unprovable presuppositions.
People need to be aware that there is a range of models that could explain the observations, For instance, I can construct you a spherically symmetrical universe with Earth at its center, and you cannot disprove it based on observations. You can only exclude it on philosophical grounds. In my view there is absolutely nothing wrong in that. What I want to bring into the open is the fact that we are using philosophical criteria in choosing our models. That being the case, we are left with the uncomfortable conclusion that we believe whatever model we decide to accept without proof. That makes astrophysics or cosmology a matter of faith, but faith in what? We must choose between faith in the theories that man has devised or faith in God’s Word.
Do not be deceived into thinking that we can make the Bible conform to modern astrophysics. One cannot honestly do that. We are forced, therefore, into choosing whether we will call man a liar or God.
