The Genesis Testimony

Having established that the Bible is our most reliable source of truth for establishing a proper cosmology, it is important for us to study and believe the Genesis account of creation. The author of Hebrews wrote that our faith in the Genesis creation narrative is what gives us understanding. 

By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3 (NASB95)

Only by faith in God’s Word are we able to properly comprehend God’s creation. We dare not rely on our own understanding or that of other men who deny the Genesis account’s truthfulness.

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1–2 (NKJV)

King David’s first Psalm commends us to trust in God’s Word above all else. Those pursuing a greater understanding of the cosmos dare not rely on the counsel of the “ungodly” – those who scorn God and the Bible, which includes most prominent astrophysicists.

Every Bible believer faces a crisis of faith regarding whether we will value and believe God’s testimony over every other voice or supposed authority.

If we accept that God’s Word is true, then we will believe his account of creation and his description of the earth and heavens. If we believe the testimony of modern astrophysics and trust what is called science more than the Bible, we must either throw out the biblical account altogether or drastically alter it so that it no longer resembles what it originally meant.

Satan knows that if he can make us doubt the accuracy and truthfulness of Genesis Chapter One, we will have no basis for believing any of the Bible.

If Chapter One of the Bible only communicates spiritual concepts that have no relationship to physical reality, how can we suppose that other supposed historical truths, such as the resurrection of Christ, are real? Might they not also be human authors’ imperfect attempts to describe a spiritual truth beyond the scope of our comprehension or experience? Denying the accuracy of the Genesis One account opens the door to all sorts of deception, as is demonstrated in those denominations that reject biblical authority.

The Bible begins with a description of how God created the sea, the earth, and the heavens as a integral whole. The tiered creation of Genesis continues all the way to the last book, Revelation. It is impossible to reject the cosmological model of Genesis without rejecting the entire Bible testimony.

The Bible does not permit us to treat Genesis otherwise than being historically factual. The early Hebrews and Christians understood it that way.

Just because parts of the Bible are poetry does not alter its truthfulness. Poetry intensifies the power and beauty of words rather than detracts from their truth. The only reason we would think otherwise is if we have adopted presuppositions that contradict God’s Word. If we believe that the Big Bang – Heliocentric Theory (BB-HT) is an undeniable fact, we will be forced to treat Genesis Chapter One as a scientifically inaccurate description of something God did not think the authors and first receivers could comprehend.

Accusing God of giving us a false account of creation in Genesis is the equivalent of accusing the Lord of being a liar and deliberately setting a stumbling block in front of future generations who would have access to the theories of modern “science.”

If I catch someone in a lie, especially if I am just getting to know them, it is a “red flag.” I have found that to put confidence in such a person leads to disappointment. It is foolish to trust an habitual liar.

If God did not tell us the truth in Genesis Chapter One, why should we believe him ever again? How will we know what other parts of the Bible are untrue – and who will decide?

Mistrusting God is the consequence of believing the devil’s lie. It worked in the garden on Adam and Eve, and it continues to be effective today, especially when it comes to the Genesis account of creation.

Many conservative Christians reject the theory of evolution in favor of the creation account, even though quite a large percentage of people in the world consider evolution to be fact. Why then do so many of us Bible believers find it to be more difficult to accept the Genesis account of the creation of the heavens and earth? Is it not because we think we have seen proof of a spherical earth suspended in the void of space? NASA has been caught lying many times. Why should we have any confidence in that organization? Why would we trust them more than God? 

...Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged.” Romans 3:4 (NKJV)

We know that our government lies to us about many things. Why is it difficult to think that NASA is deceiving us? It was founded by satanists and names all its missions after false gods. Look at what that agency has given us over the years as supposed actual photos of the earth from outer space.

Notice that the size and shapes of the continents vary. It has been proved that Photoshop was used to create clouds. Robert Simmons, the man who manufactured the first “blue marble” version of earth admitted that he Photoshopped it. Neil de Grasse Tyson says the earth is an oblate pear-shaped spheroid, but every supposed photograph of the earth suspended in space is perfectly round. The supposed photo of the earth taken from the moon was Photoshopped.

Even if we do not believe NASA deliberately is deceiving us, wisdom tells us that we should never believe the testimony of those who contradict God’s Word?

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20 (NKJV)

Ultimately, each of us has to make up our own minds what we will believe, but we must never forget that God will hold us accountable in this area.

In the chart below, I contrast the biblical account with the Big Bang – Heliocentric Theory.

The Biblical Account The Big Bang – Heliocentric Theory

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) — This verse is a summary of all that follows. God is the center of everything. This compares to a parallel account in John’s Gospel.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:1–4 (NKJV)

In the beginning of the Big Bang – Heliocentric Theory (BB-HT), the universe created itself out of nothing. It is impossible to harmonize this account with the Genesis narrative. One cannot honestly say that the Big Bang took place when God spoke the cosmos into existence out of nothing. (Hebrews 11:3) Nothing in the Big Bang account agrees with Scripture, especially not the timeline. In fact, the notion of the entire universe originating from a single point is found in the Jewish Kabbalah, an occult book, and was later posited by a Roman Catholic Jesuit priest.

DAY 1 – The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) 

God first created the waters, called “the deep.” The dry land or “earth” was not formed yet. The Holy Spirit’s activity is central. To assert that the first thing created was “the deep” places the biblical account in direct conflict with the so-called “scientific” narrative.

 According to the BB-HT, the formation of the universe began with the chaos of an explosion from a single point, out of which stars eventually formed after billions of years and later the “planets” and other bodies spun off from them. This means the sun came into existence before it “created” the earth. Therefore, the earth owes its existence to the sun, around which it orbits, held in place by a theoretical force called gravity. The sun is central in heliocentrism, which is a variation of sun worship, something Pythagoras and Hermes Trismegistus practiced, and which Copernicus and Newton acknowledged. This so-called science is really an occult religion.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. Genesis 1:3–5 (NKJV)

After creating the seas, on the same day God created light and instituted the pattern of day followed by night. God had not yet created the sun, moon, or stars; so, there was no obvious physical source of this light. It must have emanated from God himself, which agrees with John’s Gospel and Revelation.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:4–5 (NKJV)

And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23 (NASB95)

Moses was not a stupid man. He knew that the sun produced daylight; so, when he wrote this account of creation, he understood that it did not make sense from a mechanistic point of view. This is a case when God does not explain everything.

The Lord asks us to take him at his word without having complete understanding. (Proverbs 3:5-6) This is a recurring theme in the Bible.

The “scientific” view requires that there be a natural source for light, which would come from some form of combustion or nuclear fusion, such as from a star or sun. This would necessitate the sun’s already being in existence, which contradicts the Bible account. The heliocentric view also requires the earth to rotate on an imaginary axis to account for day and night. Since there was no sun, moon, or stars at this point in the Genesis account, the “scientific” view demands that we reject the Bible as a trustworthy source of information about creation. This is one reason why so many leading exponents of the Big Bang theory are atheists.

The true account of the heavens and earth testifies to God’s glory. The false account argues that there is no god.

The scientific point of view requires that we have a mechanistic explanation for everything. God is not part of the equation. Anything that cannot be explained mechanistically is rejected.

DAY 2 – Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. Genesis 1:6–8 (NKJV)

Here is another place where the Genesis account radically departs from the BB-HT. When people have been indoctrinated from childhood in the heliocentric-globe theory, the idea of there being a solid dome-like vault called the firmament encasing the earth seems bizarre. However, since we know that a pressurized atmosphere requires a container, it is more reasonable that the BB-HT.

who builds his upper chambers in the heavens and lays the foundation of his vault on the earth, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them on the surface of the earth—Yahweh is his name. Amos 9:6 (LEB)

Raqia, the Hebrew word for firmament, means something solid, such as molten bronze that has been beaten out. (Job 37:18) It had to be strong enough to support the weight of the waters above. God took an entire day to construct this amazing structure, which was prepared to house what we call the “heavenly bodies” – the sun, moon, and stars and be the container of our atmos. This structure had to be placed on a strong foundation. (You can read more about the firmament by clicking here.)

The structure of the firmament requires the earth to be a plane, not a sphere.

God does not give us many details about the nature of the firmament, except in a few verses which I will cover in other articles. For now, it is enough to say that it is a gigantic structure testifying to the glory and majesty of God. (Psalm 19:1)

The BB-HT requires us to translate raqia as “heavens,” “sky,” or “expanse” because it does not allow for a solid structure that encloses the earth, since it wants us to believe that we can travel to “outer space,” which is outside our assigned realm. The BB-HT holds that the earth is “fragile,” having no protection against the perils of “outer space,” such as asteroids, sun eruptions, comets, or even alien beings. Rather than be stable and stationary, the earth is said to be hurtling through the void / vacuum of “outer space” at incredible speeds (rotating at 1000 mph, revolving around the sun at 66,600 mph, traveling through the Milky Way at 500,000 mph, as hurtling through the “universe” at over 1,000,000 mph). In this version of reality we do not know where we are going. We are said to have an “atmosphere” that is held to the earth by a mysterious unproven force called gravity against the incomprehensible power of the strongest vacuum known, without any sort of container, which is a violation of known physical laws.

The BB-HT is specially designed to deny the existence of God and the truth of the Bible and to make us believe what is contrary to all experience and the testimony of our five senses. The true creation testifies to God’s glory (Psalm 19:1), but the false version testifies that there is no God. This false narrative is being used to hide God’s existence and to enslave humanity to Satan’s lies.

The existence of the firmament means that “outer space” with its vacuum is an imaginary construct that exists only in our minds and NASA CGI. Travel beyond the firmament into God’s realm is impossible outside of Christ. It was tried at Babel and continues to be attempted by NASA through the use of rockets. Therefore, no one ever has been to the moon, as any real investigation of that bit of NASA fakery will reveal. DAY 3 – Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good. 11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day. Genesis 1:9–13 (NKJV)

On day three we have the first appearance of dry land, called the earth. We learn from Psalm 24:2 that the earth was founded upon the waters, just as Genesis describes it. We also discover from Psalm 75:3 and numerous other places that God placed the earth on pillars so that its foundation is secure and it will not be moved. (Psalm 96:10) Psalm 19:1 and Romans 1:20 tell us that the creation declares the the glory of God and reveals much about his character and power. The earth has a solid foundation, just as we do in Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11)

God also created the first living things, which were plants.

The BB-HT, which applies evolutionary theory to the cosmos, cannot have life beginning with plants on dry land. Rather, the evolutionary development of life is said to have begun in the “primordial soup” of the sea.

In addition, the BB-HT says that the earth is tilting, wobbling, and moving at breakneck speed through an evolving ever-expanding universe. This all directly contradicts the Bible, which says the earth does not move.

He established the earth on her foundations, so that it will not be moved forever and ever. Psalm 104:5 (LEB)

DAY 4 – Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day. Genesis 1:14–19 (NKJV) 

The Genesis account finally gives us physical sources for light on day four. The sun, moon, and stars are all called lights or luminaries. They are all placed in the structure called the firmament, requiring them to be smaller and much closer than modern astrophysics claims. There are no “planets” (spherical solid objects) but only “wandering” (Greek: planetes) lights or stars that move differently from the circular fixed motion of the other stars. If one looks at these wandering stars with a telescope or high-zoom camera, they look quite similar to other stars and not like NASA’s computer generated images.

Their motion is over the earth, as revealed in Psalm 19:5, and fixed as shown in Jeremiah 31:35 and other places. Everything is fixed from creation like a giant clock. The moon is also described as a light, rather than a reflector. If we think about how the light of the moon extends in complete brightness to its very edges, it should be plain to us that it is not a spherical reflector, and certainly not the dull gray surface supposedly photographed by the Apollo astronauts.

 

As I already mentioned, the BB-HT of origins states that the sun and other stars were the first things that coalesced after the primal explosion, which directly contradicts the Bible. This theory also says that the moon is a spherical solid reflector of sunlight rather than being a light in its own right. The stars are said to be suns, which contradicts scripture, too. Instead of being in God’s “fixed” order, everything in the universe is supposed to be moving away from the theoretical original blast center. The “wandering stars” (Jude 13) were reclassified as solid spherical objects, much like earth is said to be. Each of these so called planets supposedly are caught in the inexorable power of the sun’s theoretical gravity. The sun rules its “solar system” as a king would his court. Each “planet” except for the earth is named after a pagan god. This is all based on sun worship, which holds that the sun god, Helios or Sol, rules over all.

Heliocentrism places the earth in the same category as the wandering planets named after false gods, thereby putting us in a place of serving Helios, just like the other servants of Satan.

 DAY 5 – Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day. Genesis 1:20–23 (NKJV)

Instead of life being self-generated through evolution from the sea, God created sea creatures and birds after he made the plants on dry land.

 The evolutionary BB-HT proposes that life self-generated from the sea, which directly contradicts the biblical account.

DAY 6 – Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:24–31 (NKJV)

The conclusion of creation took place on day six when God created all land-based animals and man. Humans are made in God’s likeness and have been given dominion over the earth. Our first command was to be fruitful and multiply. At this point in time, God completed his creation and rested on the seventh day.

According to the evolutionary BB-HT, it took billions of years for life to self-generate and evolve into human beings through a string of favorable mutations. Not only does this theory violate the second law of thermodynamics called entropy, it also contradicts the Bible.

The BB-HT teaches us that the earth and mankind are nothing special, being accidents of evolution. We have no God-given authority over the earth. In fact, we are considered to be a sort of dangerous “virus” that needs to have our numbers reduced.

The result of the BB-HT is that we see ourselves as purposeless, meaningless accidents instead of being the focal point of God’s creation. This is called the Copernican Principle.

In addition the BB-HT says that the universe is still self-creating through expansion and evolution, thus contradicting the Bible’s claim that God completed his work in six days and then rested.

One of the fundamental principles of Bible interpretation is that the scripture must be allowed to say what the author meant it to say.

Bible scholars agree that the Hebrews interpreted the Genesis account quite literally. The following diagram is found in Logos Bible Software and accurately portrays the Hebrew concept of the heavens and earth.

This view is described by Google and other “fact checkers” as being archaic and disproved by science. This is the result of the Copernican heliocentric view having gained the ascendancy over the past 500 years and NASA’s being believed implicitly. Before the “scientific revolution,” many cultures held the same “archaic” understanding of the design of the earth and heavens. genesisThe knowledge was probably passed down orally from Adam. Whereas, once it was considered heretical to believe the Copernican view, now it is considered to be conspiratorial, stupid, and ignorant to believe the biblical testimony regarding the cosmos. How thoroughly the devil has deceived mankind!

The lasting effect of the Copernican-Newtonian revolution was the separation of “science” from religion.

No longer is the Word of God highly regarded by those claiming to be scientists, or even, in many cases, by those who acknowledge Christ. Paul warned Timothy that this day would come.

O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you. Turn away from pointless empty talk and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge, 21 which some, by professing it, have deviated concerning the faith. Grace be with you all. 1 Timothy 6:20–21 (LEB)

In summary, the Bible presents us with a very different account of origins from modern science.

Christians must decide between these two worldviews.

I believe we are being tested today in the same way as Adam and Eve were. Satan is asking our generation, “Did God really say?”

“Surely he did not mean what he said! For surely he knew people were not smart enough to understand the truth back then.”

Satan made Adam and Eve feel foolish and ignorant for taking God at his word. This is how the devil tries to make those who believe the Genesis account feel today. Often other Christians join in the chorus of accusers.

It appears that many of us who profess the name of Christ love pagan heliocentricism more than God’s Word.

It seems that many who name Christ as Lord are actually embarrassed by or ashamed of the Genesis testimony. I pray that soon changes!

Flat Earth… Really?

flat earth caricatureMost people have a caricature in mind, such as the picture on the right, when the subject of the “flat earth” comes up. I hope you will not immediately reject the idea based on the “straw man” argument the world uses to get people to dismiss the idea out of hand before ever really considering it properly. An investigation into the claims of biblical cosmology will convince us just how propagandized we are. In addition to inundating society with endless images of the globe, our “puppet masters” have pre-loaded our minds with a ridiculous image of the flat earth. Their first defense against the biblical earth, which is a stationary plane covered by a dome called the firmament, is to make us feel foolish for even considering it.

Every classroom has its mandatory globe. Since 1955, the movie and entertainment industry has incessantly promoted the idea that the earth is a globe. Interestingly, the timing corresponds to mysterious developments in Antarctica, the Antarctic Treaty, and the formation of NASA.

Propagandists know that if a lie is told often enough, in the minds of the hearer it becomes the truth.

This is what went on in Nazi Germany and what is going on around the world today. We have been brainwashed in many areas, not just regarding the nature of the cosmos.

No doubt the term “flat earth” is not the ideal choice of words, but it is one with which our position has been saddled. That is one reason why I call this series “Biblical Cosmology.”

The earth and heavens presented in the Bible are very different from the version we have been taught from infancy.

Another, perhaps preferred, descriptor for where we live is “true earth” or “biblical earth.” If you decide to continue reading this series, I ask you to keep an open mind, especially if this is all new to you. We cannot overcome a lifetime of indoctrination in just a few minutes.

As we research biblical cosmology, we will discover that when the Bible says that Satan is a liar (John 8:44) who deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9), it is not using poetic language. It is the absolute truth.

The globe – heliocentric model of the earth gained traction around 500 years ago, thanks to Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, and Newton. Today it largely has displaced the Bible’s account in Genesis.

Today most Christians accept the heliocentric version of the cosmos and try to accommodate Scripture to fit it somehow.

I am convinced that this cannot be done without twisting the meaning. (I have written another article specifically addressing this issue.) My goal and hope is that these articles will help the reader to transition from what he have been told since childhood to a firm conviction that what the Bible says about the cosmos is true.

The Bible’s Authority

The Bible is our authority in every area of life, including science.

It is not a book written from man’s perspective, but from God’s. If we believe the Bible is absolutely true, we cannot honestly think that God said what he did in Genesis and elsewhere because people at that time were not ready for the truth, since they were what some call “pre-scientific.” God gives us the truth, whether we think it is true or not. He cannot lie. He says what he means and means what he says.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NKJV)

Every single word of God in the Bible is true, including what it says about the cosmos.

We are commanded to live by every word that proceeds from God. If we take upon ourselves to claim that some words are not scientifically accurate, we make ourselves judges of God’s Word. What other verses will we dispose of because they do not fit our current views on things?

It’s a slippery slope when we start down the path of rejecting some of the Bible because it offends us or makes us look ignorant in the eyes of the world.

Perhaps we are not bold enough to reject God’s Word, but instead we try to alter its meaning. Instead of allowing it to say what it clearly says (exegesis), we bend and twist it to say what we have predetermined that it should say (eisegesis).

Peter warned that people would do this.

And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him—16 speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction. 2 Peter 3:15–16 (NLT)

An example of this is when commentators try to make “evening and morning, the first day” into an indefinably long period of time. A similar twist is when interpreters translate the Hebrew word for firmament (raqia) into “sky” or “expanse” without the least reference to its solidity.

The Bible tells us that we are not to provide a “private interpretation” to God’s Word.

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20–21 (NASB95)

This means we must approach scripture with reverence, realizing that we simply cannot lay on top of it our own preference or some scientific worldview to show us how to interpret its words. We must diligently seek to understand what God meant it to say. For this we need the Holy Spirit and an honest heart.

As disciples, we will accept what the Bible says, no matter what!

If we have been viewing Genesis and other passages of the Bible through the lens of the heliocentric view of the cosmos, we will have to make a rather huge adjustment. The authors of the Bible believed no such thing. The Hebrew conception of the earth and heavens, as believed by Moses, David, Isaiah, Daniel, etc., the ones who authored its words, looked like the image on the right according to Bible scholars.

One of the most important principles for Bible interpretation (hermeneutics) is that the Scriptures must at least mean what the authors intended.

When Moses wrote Genesis, the model of the earth enclosed in the firmament is what he meant to communicate to us regarding the nature and construction of earth and heaven.

Another important hermeneutical principle is that we must take the Bible literally, except when the context makes it clear we should not. We are not permitted to relegate to symbolism what the author intended us to take literally.

We would never reinterpret Genesis to accommodate a heliocentric cosmos, unless we presuppose modern astrophysics to be true. We have to decide whether to believe God or Copernicus.

The Earth’s Curvature on the Globe Model

I do not think I will ever forget watching a clear demonstration that we can see much, much farther than we are supposed to see over water, if the globe theory of the earth’s shape were actually true. Most people do not know how much the earth’s surface is supposed to curve, if we are indeed a globe. There are websites that calculate the required amount of curvature over distance using spherical trigonometry, such as he Earth Curvature Calculator. For simplicity’s sake, the following parabolic formula works up to a distance of about 2000 miles. After that, there will be some slight discrepancies with the trig calculation, but nothing significant.

Easy Formula: The Earth's Predicted Curvature = 8 inches times the distance in mileage squared.

Here are some sample distances with the calculated required curvature, if the earth were indeed a globe. 8 inches equals .66 feet.

Perspective vs Curvature

When objects move away from us, optical perspective due to shape of our eyes make them appear to disappear from the ground or water up. Aristotle believed this was proof of the earth’s curvature. Bill Nye the Science Guy says the same thing, much to his shame. Thanks to the power of telescopes and zoom cameras, we can bring objects back into view that had “disappeared” due to perspective, all the way down to the hull in the water for boats. Even the setting sun can be brought back above the horizon line using a zoom lens.

There are so many different proofs that the earth does not curve that I cannot list them all here, but, if you want to do your own research, I have placed many of them on the Resource Page connected to this series. I encourage you to check it out. Better yet, do your own empirical experiments. Below I give you a very short video demonstration, perhaps to whet your curiosity.

If I am right in saying that the earth is not a globe but a stationary plane, then it is obvious that we are being lied to on an almost unbelievable scale.

The level of conspiracy to hide the truth is so great that many people reject the possibility of this happening out of hand. My eyes, however, were opened to large scale deception during the supposed Covid pandemic, when I observed a conspiracy between government, media, science, education, and the medical establishment to push the vaccine lie. Since then I have no problem believing in large scale deception.

The world lies in the power of the father of lies; so, why would we think mass deception would not be present?

Satan always has counter arguments to keep people away from the truth, just as he did in the garden when he flatly contradicted God’s Word to Eve. The typical counter to our being able to see so far is that it is because of refraction. Refraction, or lensing, does happen, but it cannot account for our ability to see beyond what the curvature formula tells us we should. In fact, in the example below, one of the laser shots is made over ice at night when the air temperature is colder than the water (ice) temperature, a condition in which refraction cannot take place.

As you can imagine, when I realized that water does not bend around the surface of the supposed globe, I was shocked to realize that what I had been told about the globe is a lie!

That put me into a state of cognitive dissonance. I had new evidence that clearly contradicted what I had been taught by parents, teachers, TV, NASA, and renowned scientists. It went against all the supposed video and photographic evidence provided by NASA of a spherical earth suspended in space. (I will write more about NASA’s fakery later.) As you would expect, I had a thousand questions as would anyone who is confronted with evidence that contradicts what he or she had previously believed. This new evidence indicated that the whole world has been deceived! Was I crazy? My wife and I began to investigate further.

One thing we must immediately come to terms with is that no one understands how everything works.

Just because we cannot fully explain how everything in the cosmos works does not mean, however, that the evidence of the earth’s being a plane is false. Instead, it means that we have a lot to learn.

We went back to the Bible to see what it really says. As you can imagine, we saw scriptures with a new set of eyes. It is all right there! We just could not see it previously because of our brainwashed condition. We had unwittingly accommodated the scriptures to conform to the heliocentric version of the cosmos. In some cases, we just did not even think about it, thinking it was too difficult for us to understand, another of Satan’s tricks.

Why the Lie?

One of the most frequently asked questions from anyone who is first confronted with the claims we are covering here is, “What could possibly motivate people to lie on such a grand scale?”

The simple answer is that Satan is deliberately working to blind us to the testimony of God’s creation. (Psalm 19:1 and Romans 1:20)

In place of the Bible’s testimony, the devil provides us with a pagan version of the cosmos designed to strip us of any belief in God at all. When we come to believe that the earth and heavens are exactly as described in the Bible, God seems closer than ever. All we have to do is look up, just like the Bible says. His throne is above the firmament, not in some hard to imagine spiritual non-location. A common testimony of non-believers and atheists who come to believe in the flat earth is that they can no longer deny God’s existence. Like a turtle on a fence post, the firmament did not get there by itself! (Here is a link to listen to some testimonies.)

I assure you that I never had a desire to become a “flat earther.” No one wants to be regarded as a kook by friends and family, but to deny what I see with my eyes and in Scripture, would be dishonest.

Google even feels the need to attach a warning to every YouTube video supporting the flat earth position. It is my opinion that they would not do this if this truth did not threaten their global deception scheme. 

Google seems to choose to push people away from areas where they are hiding something.

Those of us who see this truth realize that we are engaged in a type of battle reminiscent of David versus Goliath. The government controls the media, NASA, and higher education. NASA has a budget of around $60 million per day to develop their computer generated images of “outer space,” satellites, the International Space Station, and Hubble telescope wonders. All we have on our side is a dedicated cadre of YouTubers, Rumblers, and writers. But, with God’s help, that will be enough.

My prayer is that God will lift the shroud of deception off the people of the earth, that once again we will realize that the Bible is absolutely true when it comes to science as well as spiritual matters. May our eyes be opened to the heavenly testimony.

Presuppositions: Are they biblical?

Presuppositions are beliefs that we consider to be self-evident, taken by faith, and requiring no proof.

For example, many people believe in God without being able to prove his existence empirically. Hopefully we have what we consider to be good reasons for believing our presuppositions, but we will never be able to prove them to a doubter. Everyone has presuppositions, even those who claim to be purely rational and scientific. To claim that we can think rationally is a presupposition, especially if one believes in a randomly evolved universe.

If our presuppositions are correct, they will help us arrive at proper conclusions. If they are incorrect, they will lead us into further error.

In order to establish a biblical cosmology, we must agree upon certain presuppositions, some of which I have listed below. If we can agree on these, it will help us see eye-to-eye as we move forward. I have put the corresponding presuppositions of the Big Bang heliocentric side, as well.

God exists, and he created the heavens and earth out of nothing by speaking it into existence. There is no God. The universe and all life self-created through the Big Bang and randomly evolved.
God gave us the Bible, which, according to its own testimony, is absolutely true. All its words are inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16) Therefore, we can rely upon the truth of every word. (Proverbs 30:5, John 17:17)  The Bible was written by men and is fallible, outdated, and not a reliable source of information about scientific matters.
We should accept that the words of the Bible are literally true, unless it is clear from the context that we should interpret them in some other way, such as symbolically. We should not impose upon the scriptures an outside presupposition to make them mean something different from the author’s original intent (2 Peter 3:16); although, some scriptures can have multiple meanings beyond the author’s intent.  When the Bible conflicts with established scientific consensus, we must interpret the Bible in a way (symbolically, poetically) that agrees with science.
The Bible is not merely a book that communicates spiritual and moral truths, but it also is correct when it addresses practical, historical, and scientific issues. If the Bible has relevance, it is only in spiritual and moral matters.
God did not “dumb down” his inspired and true Word to accommodate the ignorance of what some call the “pre-scientific” era. If God did inspire the Bible, clearly he spoke in ways to accommodate the level of comprehension of the writers and readers. 

If we can accept these five presuppositions, we can conclude that the Creator God of the Bible was present at creation, knows all things, says what he means, and means what he says. (Numbers 23:19) Many times God does not tell us everything we want to know, but he is always truthful.

None of us were there and have no right to question God’s veracity.

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, Job 38:4 (NASB95)

Therefore, it is reasonable and mandatory for us to believe the assertions made by the Creator in the Bible over the theories and declarations of fallible men, no matter how intelligent, credentialed, or admired they may be.

The Bible is our most reliable source of truth in all matters. We believe it gives us accurate information regarding the order of creation, the nature of the heavens, and the design of the earth. (Romans 3:4)

The Bible also teaches us that we have an adversary called Satan who is a liar by nature. Jesus said that no truth dwells in him. (John 8:44) According to Scripture, he actively deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9), which lies in his power (1 John 5:19). Only those who belong to Christ have escaped from his kingdom of darkness (1 John 5:5). Only those in whom dwells the Holy Spirit of truth and who study and believe the Bible have the ability to detect and defend themselves against the devil’s lies. How sad it is, however, when born-again sons and daughters of the God of truth are duped into believing Satan’s lies! Tragically this happens on a large scale.

There is a worldwide satanic plan to deceive the masses regarding the design of the earth and heavens in order to hide the existence of the Creator.

His plan is also to convince people that we are insignificant and worthless in the grand scheme of an infinite chaotic universe. He wants us to believe that we live in a rather hopeless situation, that our “planet” is in mortal danger, especially from the “virus” of humanity. He also aims to trick people into believing that the Bible is unreliable. (Psalm 2:1-4) How better can he do that than by convincing us that the very first chapter of Genesis is a fairy tale account of creation.

Conversely, our Creator God is revealing the truth about the heavens and earth in order to awaken people to his existence and to convince us to place our faith and allegiance in our Lord Jesus.

It is my hope that this series of articles will assist you to gain a better understanding of the shape and design of the earth and heavens as revealed in the Bible so that your confidence in the Bible and God will increase.

Introduction to Biblical Cosmology

What is biblical cosmology? A simple answer is that it means that we derive our understanding of the heavens and earth from the Bible, not from theoretical astrophysics or our own understanding.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 (NASB95)

Wisdom instructs us to lean upon what God says more than anything else. What he says about his creation is the most reliable information on the subject we have. 

By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:3 (NASB95)

It requires faith to accept what the Bible says over what man says. When we make the decision to do so, it glorifies and honors our Creator, but it also tends to anger those who trust in science more than God.

The world system has drilled into us an anti-biblical version of the cosmos or “universe” from early childhood. It is anti-biblical because it contradicts the Bible’s testimony from Genesis to Revelation. Our modern “scientific” theory of the heavens and earth, the Big Bang heliocentric model, gained traction during what is called the Scientific Revolution, propounded by the likes of Kepler, Copernicus, Galileo, and Newton. Today it is reinforced in our public and private school systems and constantly drummed into us by the media. The brainwashing is so pervasive that this model, which began and continues as a mere scientific theory, now is believed to be factually true by the masses. Most people will refer to having seen actual photos and videos of a spherical earth suspended in space coming out of NASA and other space agencies. Surprisingly, NASA does not have any but uses CGI to fool the public. Belief in this false system is widespread in the West; although, a growing number of people now realize that it is a house of cards waiting for God’s wind of truth to bring it down.

The “red flag” for us Bible believers is that the heliocentric model contradicts the Bible’s testimony.

As followers of Christ, God expects us to derive our understanding of the nature of the heavens and earth from him, rather than from the testimony of scientists and other “experts,” many of whom are atheists who completely reject the Bible. God tells us not to follow the counsel of the ungodly.

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1–2 (NKJV)

The heliocentric-globe earth model is a satanic lie that opposes God’s truth and gave rise to other enormous deceptions, such as biological evolution and the Big Bang theory. Its purpose is to hide God’s existence from humanity.

It falsely represents God’s carefully crafted creation in a way that makes people think that the earth is an insignificant “speck” in a vast inhospitable vacuum hurtling toward “outer darkness” at over a million miles per hour as a result of a supposed primeval explosion right out of the Jewish Kabbalah. The heavens and earth and all life are said to have created themselves through the Big Bang. In this satanic cosmology, there is no Creator, no protection, no meaning or purpose, no hope, and no responsibility to a just God. It fulfills the satanic quest to be our own god.

This lie places Bible believers in a crisis of faith. We must choose whether to believe God’s Word or what is falsely called science. Which will it be?

There are two ways to interpret the Bible. One is called exegesis, which allows the Bible to speak for itself in order to obtain its intended meaning. The opposite is called eisegesis, which overlays our presuppositions on the text and twists the scriptures to agree with our own thinking.

One of the fundamental principles of proper interpretation is that the Bible must at least mean what the original authors intended.

It may have a deeper meaning beyond what the authors meant, as with many prophecies, but it must also mean what they intended it to say. This is important when it comes to developing a biblical cosmology.

Moses, the author of Genesis, received his revelation from God. No doubt there were oral traditions passed down to him as well, probably originating with Adam. He was not that far removed from those people who got their information directly from God. Remember that humans lived a very long time in the beginning. The Bible claims to be inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16); so, we believe that the words of Genesis came from the Holy Spirit and are absolutely true.

The Genesis account provides us with an accurate model of the heavens and earth that was at one time almost universally believed, but now is regarded as a product of pre-scientific ignorance.

Today, Hebrew scholars recognize that the authors of the Bible believed the earth looked very much like the image on below. This is what we get when we rely upon the Bible for our cosmology.

Those who trust the pronouncements of  modern “scientists” and the “experts”  have been trained to think that this version of the earth and heavens is primitive, unscientific, and idiotic. They say that those who believe in it are “science deniers” and victims of a massive “conspiracy theory.”

Many believers who say they believe the Bible is God’s Word are embarrassed by the Genesis account and use some form of eisegesis to force the scriptures to agree with modern astrophysical theories.

A favorite technique is to claim that the Genesis account is poetry that was never meant to be taken as an accurate account of creation and the nature and shape of the earth and heavens. I think we cosmologywould have a hard time convincing Moses of that, or David, or Jesus, for that matter. Even believers as recent as Luther and Calvin, leaders of the Protestant Reformation who were contemporaries of Copernicus, held to the ancient Hebrew view of the earth and strongly opposed Copernicus’ theories.

But satanic deception almost always appeals to our pride. It is alluring for us to think that we figured out how things really work without relying on God or the Bible for help.

In fact, we believe we are so scientifically educated that we now “know” that the Bible is wrong and God never intended us to actually believe what it says when it comes to matters of science. I hope you can clearly see that this kind of thinking comes from Satan. It is the same strategy he used so effectively in the garden against Adam and Eve. Sinful man has been on a quest to liberate himself from the confines of God’s Word ever since. 

If we are going to be loyal to the Bible, we must be prepared to jettison everything that contradicts it.

This series of articles attempts to develop a proper biblical cosmology and expose the lies connected to modern astrophysics. I will challenge the predominant view and hopefully strengthen those who already have adopted the biblical model. Currently we who hold to a biblical view of things are in the minority, but that has always been the case for followers of Christ. Not surprisingly, we will find that the biblical view has plenty of verifiable scientific evidence to support it. I hope you will find these articles enlightening, encouraging, and challenging.

Are These the Days of Elijah?

A popular Christian song a few years ago was titled “Days of Elijah.” It focused on the coming of the Lord, a worthy and relevant topic. However, if these are indeed the days of Elijah, God is calling us to do what Elijah did – to boldly confront idolatry and challenge people to choose between serving God and the devil.

Baal worship was prevalent in Elijah’s day and still exists, but an even bigger and more ubiquitous idol confronting the church in our time is the false god of science.

In Daniel’s day, king Nebuchadnezzar erected a giant image of himself and commanded all his idol of nebuchadnezzarsubjects to worship it in a grand display of devotion, unity, pomp, and ceremony. Any who refused was condemned to death. We know the story of three brave young men who chose to endure the king’s wrath rather than betray the one true God. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego courageously stood against enormous peer pressure and the threat of imminent death.

We are faced with a similar situation today, but now the golden idol is called science. Let us consider how we Christians have prostrated ourselves to this idol, perhaps unwittingly.

I think most of my Christian readers will agree that God’s Word in the Bible is true. If we are evangelicals, Sola Scriptura is a motto from the Reformation with which we are familiar. We believe that the scriptures are infallibly accurate and true as found in the original autographs and are authoritative regarding faith and practice. Jesus taught that God’s Word cannot be broken. (John 10:35)

What the Bible says should not be contradicted or changed. It stands against all competitors claiming to be the truth. 

Jesus condemned the Pharisees for altering the Word of God to suit their purposes.

He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition. Mark 7:9 (NASB95)

Altering the clear meaning of God’s Word to make it compatible with an external version of truth is a favorite trick of religious people who do not take God’s words seriously. Here Jesus made it plain that changing the meaning of a text is the equivalent of invalidating or rejecting it. 

Whenever we reinterpret God’s Word to make it conform to a tradition or some other standard of truth, even if it is “scientific,” we are in error.

We now call the time when the Old and New Testaments were written as pre-scientific. Science emerged as a false god in the Renaissance when man determined that he is the measure of all things, not God and certainly not the Bible.

Highly esteemed scientists embarked on the scintillating quest of discovering the truths of the universe without being limited by what the Bible says.

This may have seemed like a new idea, but it is as old as humanity. This quest is the same one that Adam and Eve set out on in the garden. They likewise did not want to rely on God for information. They wanted to figure out things for themselves. This desire to gain knowledge without God’s help is rooted in pride and extremely appealing to us. It is the lure of Satan that has taken down multitudes and still deceives the nations, even those who proclaim allegiance to Jesus.

Any time we choose to dismiss the obvious meaning of Scripture in order to accommodate it to the claims of science, we have bowed the knee to a false god.

Here is a relevant example. Genesis Chapter One gives us God’s explanation of how he created the heavens and earth. In this section of the Bible we are told the sequence of creation and how long it took. The authors of the Bible believed this to be literally true, and God’s people thought the same for millennia. But when Renaissance scientists proclaimed that the Bible is not true after all, a gradual transition began to occur. Heliocentrism met with strong resistance at first from such notables as Luther and Calvin, but over time, as these defenders of orthodoxy died out and as the new theories were taught to the young, this new way of viewing the universe ascended to being considered true, not just a theory. This put the church into a crisis of faith.

Would God’s people hold to the traditional and obvious meaning of Genesis Chapter One, or would we reinterpret those verses to accommodate to a new standard of truth called science. I think you know the answer.

For the last five hundred years or so the Word of God regarding the creation and shape of the earth and heavens has been held captive by the false god of science. In a cunning stroke of evil genius, Satan attacked the foundation of truth, the Scriptures, by undermining our faith in the very first chapter.

It is no wonder that so many have chosen to reject God altogether because he cannot be found in the Big Bang universe. Only the true version of things gives glory to God.

Today God is peeling back layers of deception and restoring people’s confidence that Genesis Chapter One is literally true and accurate.

Today people are standing up to the monolithic giant in the land called science, just as Elijah stood against the prophets of Baal.

It takes courage to make a stand for God’s truth just as it did for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. May God make us bold to proclaim our loyalty both to Jesus and his words, which includes Genesis Chapter One!

The World’s Most Prolific Idol?

What is the world’s most prolific idol? The answer may surprise you. The Bible warns us not to make an image of anything in the heavens or on earth.

“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. 5 “You shall not worship them or serve them... Exodus 20:4–5a (NASB95)

Today photographs abound, but these probably do not fit the definition of an idol, even though they are images. Idols inspire worship, which includes service to these images and what they represent. I therefore extend the definition to include any image that leads us astray from God and his truth found in the Bible. (Matthew 24:24, Deuteronomy 13:5) Jesus is truth personified (John 14:6). His Word, the Bible, is completely true. Therefore, any image that contradicts God’s Word is an idol.

When we believe and serve a false image about God and his creation, it is a form of idolatry.

What then exists today in great numbers that flatly contradicts scripture and detracts from God’s glory regarding creation? The globe fits that definition perfectly.

The globe earth, which is integral to the Copernican – Newtonian model of the universe, is an outright lie that is designed by Satan to cast doubt upon all of the Bible and lead people to conclude that there is no God at all.

The best place to undermine all of Scripture is in the first chapter of Genesis.

I have written in detail elsewhere about what globe loversome call heliosorcery, an occult form of sun worship which portrays the earth being in abject slavery to Helios (Satan), along with other so-called planets (wanderers) named after pagan gods. This system depends upon an unproven force that supposedly attracts all objects to each other called gravity, which is said to hold the universe together, thereby replacing God’s Son as the One who does that. (Colossians 1:17) 

Little children are taught that the globe idol represents reality, which outright contradicts Genesis Chapter One.

Those who grow up believing this model of the universe find themselves as adults unable to accept the simple teaching of Genesis about creation.

solar systemInstead we mangle the scriptures (called eisegesis) to try to make them coexist with our false cosmological model that includes our beloved spinning water ball careening through an infinite and scary “universe” going to who knows where at breakneck speed in multiple directions at once.

Rather than accept that we live on an stationary, stable earth that is the center of God’s creation, something our senses tell us is true, we choose to believe in the incredible Big Bang ever-expanding universe, in which the globe earth is a fragile and insignificant dot. Sadly, many sincere Christians insist that the Copernican model of the universe glorifies God. But how can anything that contradicts his Word of truth glorify him? It is impossible and pure self-deception.

Humanity persists in the unattainable quest of leaving the earth on a journey into outer darkness, not believing that God created an impenetrable barrier called the firmament on the second day of creation in which he placed the heavenly lights and above which is God’s throne. Those in Babel failed to break into heaven, and neither will we. Satan has once again fooled us into joining his attempt to dethrone God.

I realize that, if you are not familiar with the claims I am making in this article, all this will seem quite fantastical and downright idiotic.

But have you considered that to believe in the globe is to disbelieve Genesis?

I have found that often people are unwilling to even consider that Genesis is literally true because we have been so brainwashed to think that such a belief is backwards, pre-scientific, and a conspiracy theory, and no one wants that label!

But denying the truth of Genesis is to call God a liar, a scary proposition.

I would rather say that almost everyone in the world is lying or deceived into believing a lie.

May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written, “THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS, AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED.” Romans 3:4 (NASB95)

Jesus said that the scriptures cannot be broken. (John 10:35) This means that the author of scripture says that every single word of the Bible is completely true and reliable.

Are we willing to contradict Jesus just to please those who serve the false religion of scientism? Is our motto “sola scriptura” or “sola sciencia?”

However, once a person sees the truth of Genesis Chapter One, the Bible comes alive in a new way. We discover that God’s Word is true even about cosmology! Once we know the truth, wouldn’t it be a sin to keep quiet about it? Shouldn’t we be willing to endure the scorn of the world to be loyal to Jesus and his Word? (Luke 9:26) God’s word is true. The globe is a lying idol. It is time for it to be smashed and the high place of heliocentrism torn down!

And now you have heard the truth. You no longer can claim ignorance. What are you going to do about it?

Science Fiction

Theoretical sciences deal with subject matter that is either too old (evolution) or too far away (astrophysics) to be able to do much in the way of practical, repeatable experiments. By necessity, these areas of study will never offer us much more than theories. This is acceptable unless conjecture is taught as fact, as has become the case. Neil deGrasse Tyson, who seems to be more of a comedian than a scientist, once said: “The theory of evolution, like the theory of gravity, is a scientific fact.”

Such a move from theory to fact requires the acceptance of unprovable presuppositions by faith. Modern astrophysics has become more of a religion than true science.

When Copernicus and others proposed the revolutionary (pun intended) heliocentric theory to explain what can be observed in the heavens, it was simply another possibility. It was partly based on reason and partly based on mysticism. This man and others, such as Sir Isaac Newton, were heavily influenced by the Egyptian sun worshiper, Hermes Trismegistus. They also believed that circles were perfect geometric figures, much to be preferred over the patterns of “planetary” motion they observed. Copernicus believed that the sun should be the center of the universe, holding sway over its subjects, including earth. (I have written about the occult side of heliocentrism in another article.) This new way of viewing the heavens soon took root and influenced everything that followed. Today heliocentrism is considered to be “gospel” truth, not to be disputed by any sane person, but it is still merely a theory.

Some astrophysicists are honest enough to admit this, such as George Ellis, who wrote in 1995.

People need to be aware that there is a range of models that could explain the observations, For instance, I can construct you a spherically symmetrical universe with Earth at its center, and you cannot disprove it based on observations. You can only exclude it on philosophical grounds. In my view there is absolutely nothing wrong in that. What I want to bring into the open is the fact that we are using philosophical criteria in choosing our models. A lot of cosmology tries to hide that.    —Cosmologist George Ellis, in Scientific American, “Thinking Globally, Acting Universally”, October 1995

Another less honest astrophysicist, none other than Edwin Hubble, wrote the following after discovering that cosmic background radiation indicates that the earth is the center of the universe.

…Such a condition would imply that we occupy a unique position in the universe, analogous, in a sense, to the ancient conception of a central Earth…This hypothesis cannot be disproved, but it is unwelcome and would only be accepted as a last resort in order to save the phenomena. Therefore we disregard this possibility…. the unwelcome position of a favored location must be avoided at all costs…. such a favored position is intolerable…Therefore, in order to restore homogeneity, and to escape the horror of a unique position…must be compensated by spatial curvature. There seems to be no other escape.” (The Observational Approach to Cosmology)

Ellis and Hubble teach us that certain things in astrophysics must be accepted by faith, making it a religion. Max Planck agreed.

Anybody who has been seriously engaged in scientific work of any kind realizes that over the entrance to the gates of the temple of science are written the words: ‘Ye must have faith.’ —Max Planck

Modern astrophysics assumes by faith that there is no Creator. Therefore, the universe must be explained using only mechanistic principles. The Bible is not taken seriously. These false assumptions have unavoidably produced false conclusions.

Modern astrophysics is not science. It is science fiction.

The only way to find our way back to the truth is to return to square one: God exists and created everything, just as the Bible, God’s inspired Word, tells us. What the Bible teaches is the truth. 

Our model of the cosmos must agree with the Bible’s teachings, or it is false. We are faced with the choice to believe what God says or in science fiction.

It takes great courage to contest the accepted paradigm. Many have refused to do so.

Man’s Ongoing Quest to Escape Our Assigned Habitation, the Earth

Not only has man rebelled against God and the limitations imposed by his Word, the Bible; we also have made it our ongoing quest to go beyond our assigned habitation into regions not given to us by God.

The Bible teaches us that Satan wished to go beyond his God-given place and role and usurp God’s throne.

But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14 ‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ Isaiah 14:13–14 (NASB95)

The essence of sin lies in our refusal to accept and honor God’s authority as our Creator.

We see this being played out all around us in our culture. People are not happy with their assigned sexuality or gender. Some women despise the perceived limitations of being wives and mothers. Some men do not want to carry the weight of responsibility connected with the roles of husband and father. Many people have rejected the idea of there being a God who has a right to limit our freedom or require anything from us. This is the height of arrogance and deception, which the apostle Paul described in his letter to the church in Rome.

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, Romans 1:28 (NASB95)

Individuals and societies plunge into degradation and ruin when God is not acknowledged, honored, and properly feared.

The truth is that God gave us tremendous freedom, but we have used it selfishly for the most part. Apparently Satan had a privileged status prior to his rebellion, but he wanted more. Although he is a created being, he considered himself to be God’s equal and had the audacity to attempt to overthrow the Creator’s rule. The result was his utter defeat and ouster from heaven.

And He [Jesus] said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Luke 10:18 (NKJV)

Having failed in his first attempt, Satan did not give up. Apparently, somewhere along the way he decided to seduce the humans God created and placed in the garden to get us to join his rebellion against God. It seems that the lure of god-like self-determination is quite overpowering to God’s creatures.

God created us to be perfectly fulfilled and happy in a dependent relationship with him.

We were not designed or intended to go it alone. Our Lord’s desire has always been to be with us and live his life in and through us, which is the only pathway to peace and joy. Sadly Adam and Eve threw all that away in pursuit of an empty promise from the devil that they could be like God, knowing good and evil for themselves.

Thankfully, God was not willing to leave humanity in our degraded and enslaved state. He sent Jesus to restore us to the abundant life he originally intended for us. Jesus said:

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10 (NLT)

Not only did God intend for Adam and Eve and their descendants to enjoy a happy and fulfilled life of partnership and dependence upon their Creator, he also provided them with the perfect environment.

The earth God created was a paradise with more than enough capacity to provide for a vast number of people. Before they rebelled against God’s rule, the earth worked with them to provide all their needs. After their sin and the consequent judgment, the earth was negatively impacted, too, and worked against them to some degree.

Then to Adam He said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat from it’; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life. 18 “Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field; 19 By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3:17–19 (NASB95)

Now it is more difficult to extract the blessings from the ground, but not impossible. God’s original command to be fruitful and multiply still stands. God still wants the earth to be full of people, something the devil works hard to prevent. 

Satan, the father of lies, works hard to get us to believe and accept his version of reality in place of God’s truth. 

The earth God created is huge with plentiful resources. The Bible says that it is safely enclosed and protected in a solid firmament. This crystalline-like structure separates us from the third heaven where God’s throne is located. God reserved heaven for himself, his angels, and all who put their faith and allegiance in his Son, our Lord Jesus the Messiah. Our assigned abode for now is on the earth below the firmament. The Lord wants us to be satisfied with what he has provided for us, not wishing we had more.

Very soon after Adam’s and Eve’s rebellion and their expulsion from the garden, their descendants became discontented with remaining in our assigned habitation.

The Bible records that residents of Mesopotamia constructed a giant tower whose purpose was to reach into heaven.

They said, “Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” Genesis 11:4 (NASB95)

Tradition has it that Nimrod wanted to penetrate the barrier of the firmament in order to kill God with his bow and arrows. Regardless of whether there is any truth in that, God took note of this attempt to penetrate into his domain and frustrated their efforts. By dividing them into many different language groups, God slowed down mankind’s technological development. But the drive to push beyond the limits of our habitation and escape its confines persisted.

The quest to breach the firmament was delayed but not stopped.

It seems that NASA has been assigned several nefarious purposes, one of which has been to test the strength and nature of the firmament and perhaps punch through it.  

The Bible tells us that the solid firmament rises from the earth where it is securely anchored. I wrote more about this in previous articles in this series. A 1958 version of The Encyclopedia Americana reported the presence of a dome. This was prior to the Antarctic Treaty and before censorship regarding that area of the world. The Bible teaches that we are “fenced in” by this structure. At this point, the general public does not know where the firmament connects to the earth, since that area of the world is now “off limits,” but possibly Admiral Richard E. Byrd found it, having made several expeditions to that region before and after WWII (1928-30, 1933-34, 1939-40, 1946-47, and 1955-56). 

During and after Byrd completed his assignments there, several very interesting things took place.

  1. The United Nations was created in 1945.
  2. Walt Disney, who majored in fantasy, and Werner Von Braun partnered to produce a documentaryantarctica events on outer space travel in 1955.
  3. NASA was formed in 1958. Werner Von Braun, a former Nazi, brought to the US under the auspices of Operation Paperclip, was put in charge of our space program, or at least became one of its major spokesmen.
  4. The Antarctic Treaty was signed, cordoning off the area beyond the South 60th parallel, December 1, 1959. The signing nations were each assigned a segment to guard and protect against independent exploration. Interestingly, despite all our international conflicts since then, no one has violated this treaty. Why is it alone so valued?
  5. Operation Fishbowl was part of a series of high altitude nuclear explosions conducted by the US and Russia. Operation Starfish exploded a 1.4 megaton bomb in 1962 at a reported altitude of 400 kilometers or 240 miles.

If the firmament exists, outer space is a fantasy. The firmament cannot be penetrated, and pretty much everything NASA produces is part of a Disney-like magical kingdom.

Many believe that NASA exists to maintain the illusion that we live on a globe while making ongoing efforts to break through the firmament.

Whatever is the actual case, no one will deny that many people are genuinely obsessed with outer space and interplanetary travel. The  idea of leaving the earth and exploring, and maybe even establishing colonies, beyond our assigned habitation of the earth has gripped the imaginations of millions.

If the Bible is correct about the existence of a solid dome-like firmament, then the science fiction of outer space is tantamount to idolatry and an act of rebellion against God and his Word.

Hollywood, which often hides the truth in plain sight, has given us many clues regarding the firmament and humanity’s inborn desire to escape our assigned habitation. Here are a few examples.

The Houston Airport is another example of hiding the truth in plain site. A flat-earth map has been placed under a dome. The powers that be love dangling the truth under our noses and laugh at our lack of discernment.

The Matrix movie describes a world where humans are enslaved by convincing them that the lie, with which they are all brainwashed, is reality. In order to break free from the lie, Neo was encouraged to take the “red pill” that would open his eyes to the truth and launch him on a dangerous pursuit of freedom.

Sinful rebellious humankind wants to escape the limitations of our God-imposed habitation. Satan and those working with and for him hide the true nature of our world from its inhabitants in order to enslave us under false pretenses. They tell us that the world we live in is more or less doomed and that we need to find somewhere else for a habitation. All the while they hide from us how amazing and plentiful is God’s provision.

Almost everything about our world as presented by our government is contrary to the truth.

Consider the following.

  • We are told that we live on a “fragile” planet. 
  • We are in danger from climate change, asteroids, disease, aliens, and over crowding.
  • Resources are limited and running out.
  • World population needs to be reduced, resources rationed, and energy conserved.

But what does God say?

  • We live on a firmly secured earth enclosed by a solid firmament. Climate change, aliens, and asteroids are not real. Demons, yes, but not aliens.
  • God created the earth with more than enough resources to support a massive population. Otherwise, God would not have commanded us to fill the earth.
  • God said to be fruitful and multiply. Efforts to reduce the population through wars, starvation, abortion, vaccines, etc., like everything else Satan suggests, are in direct violation of God’s commands.

If we would accept that the earth God created is a perfectly designed habitation and seek to bring it more and more in line with God’s original intention under his rule, we would see our lives prosper in a greater way.

Instead, inspired by Satan and our own rebelliousness, we refuse to tell the truth, listen to the truth, or accept our God-imposed limitations. Instead, we try to escape, not realizing that all the while Satan is working his plan to subjugate and destroy the inhabitants of the earth. Thankfully, we know from the Bible that God wins! Eventually the truth will be known. God will create a new heaven and earth in which only righteousness exists. Even now the Bible says that believers in Jesus are spiritually seated with him in heaven.

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 (NLT)

In this marvelous generosity, God has given to us everything we and Satan tried to take illegitimately. What a God we serve!

It’s Time for Us to Escape This Tottering House of Cards

The “Over Mountain Men” won a decisive battle at Kings Mountain, NC during some of the darkest days of the American fight for independence from England. These intrepid fighters, having been threatened by one of General Cornwallis’ subordinates, decided to hunt him down and destroy him. Ferguson had promised to hang their leaders and burn their settlements, if they did not swing their support to the Crown. Ferguson did not understand these people who had already defied the King by settling in the mountains of what is now Eastern Tennessee, an area designated as Indian territory. These hardy pioneers, who had hewed out a rough existence from the wilderness, were unwilling to be told what to do by a faraway king from another land. They were used to battling Indians and the environment and were ready to die, if necessary, to preserve their freedom from England. Our nation continues to recognize and celebrate their fierce independence and fighting spirit which significantly influenced the outcome of the Revolution.

It is one thing to throw off what might be considered the oppressive rule of a distant tyrant, but it is another matter altogether when such fierce independence manifests itself in opposition to God. 

Since the Garden of Eden, humans in general have been in a prolonged war to throw off God’s rule and the limitations imposed by his Word, the Bible.

This, however, is a war we cannot possibly win. All those engaged in it have been deluded into fighting against the omnipotent ruler of the heavens and earth. King David wrote the following in Psalm Two.

Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed [Jesus], saying, 3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.” 4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Psalm 2:1–4 (NKJV)

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s direct command in the garden, they demonstrated that they were unwilling to be limited by what God told them. They chose to transgress or “go beyond” his command not to eat the forbidden fruit. This rebellious desire to go beyond the boundaries set for us has been passed down spiritually to every human being. Our most fundamental sin, therefore, is our refusal to acknowledge God’s right to rule over us. This is why it is essential that we confess that Jesus is Lord, if we want to be rescued from the bondage and death that resulted from our rebellion.  (Romans 10:9-10)

The choice willingly to come back under God’s rule is the key action we must take to be restored to favor with God. Christ’s lordship is the focus. Acknowledge it and live. Defy it and be destroyed.

If we willingly bow the knee to Jesus, our sins are forgiven, we are restored to a proper relationship with God, and become one with the Holy Spirit, who is the fountain of eternal life. God begins to live his life through us, transforming us from the inside out to be more and more like him. We are promised that one day Jesus will raise our mortal bodies from the dead, after which we will share in his glory and rule for all eternity! Hallelujah!

However, there is another group of people who will not bow the knee to the Lord Jesus and insists that he has no right or say in their lives. They fiercely resist his rule and refuse to be limited or governed by his Word, the Bible.

But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, ‘We do not want him to be our king.’ Luke 19:14 (NLT)

The Bible says that these people make up the world system. They hate Jesus and his Word (the Bible) as much or more than the Over Mountain Men hated the King of England and his laws. This refusal to be limited by what God has revealed and commanded in the Bible manifests itself in many ways. It shows up very clearly in theoretical astrophysics. If we reject God’s description of the heavens and earth found in the Bible and his explanation of origins, we must come up with an alternate theory, one that, by default, is in error.

Whatever begins with false assumptions, will always lead to deep deception.

God’s Word is always true (John 17:17); therefore, we become opponents of truth in any area in which we resist the final authority of God’s Word.

It disturbs me that so many who acknowledge that Jesus rose from the dead still have reservations about accepting the authority of his Word regarding the origin and nature of the earth and heavens. If in any area we put more faith in the proclamations of men than in God’s Word, such as cosmology, we ally ourselves with the world system ruled by Satan, whose subjects prefer lies over truth, Satan over God, darkness over light, and death over life. (John 3:19-20)

Jesus addressed the religious leaders of Israel, who thought they were spiritually minded, but were actually under Satan’s rule. He told them that they were unable and unwilling to hear and believe the truth he spoke because they were children of the devil. (John 8:43-45) Those who have not been reborn by the Holy Spirit instinctively hate the truth and spurn God’s Word. Those in the  world system highly esteem what God hates and hate what God loves. (Luke 16:15)

Whatever the world praises is most likely something that opposes God’s rule and defies the words of the Bible.

About a year ago I became convinced that the heliocentric model, which includes the spherical earth, is a lie that opposes the clear teaching of Genesis Chapter One. Holding this position puts me at odds with what most people believe is the truth about the cosmos, which, I contend, is a house of cards, built on a most shaky foundation of lies that leads to great deception.

When we begin with an assumption that contradicts the Bible, we cannot help becoming entangled in a web of deception.

Satan does not deceive us just for fun. He is not a mischievous prankster. His end game is to destroy us.

The highly esteemed heliocentric model, which opposes God’s Word in almost every way, is detestable in the eyes of God but idolized by mankind.

Those of us who have placed our faith in the Lord Jesus are faced with a choice: shall we embrace the Bible and turn our backs on the heliocentric lie, which will require us to endure the scorn of men, or shall we take the easy way out and go along with the lie?

house of cards 2The foundation of theoretical astrophysics is slowly eroding as more and more people are waking up to the truth about the earth’s design. The deceptions connected to the space program are unraveling before our eyes.  The king has no clothes! Eventually the lies supporting this massive deception will be exposed. The house of cards built on the heliocentric lie is under God’s judgment. It is in danger of imminent collapse. Tension escalates as to the fate of those who are still inside. Will they get out before the whole thing comes crashing down?

For a long time now, it seems that God has “winked” at the deception surrounding globe earth, but that time is coming to an end.

I believe a time is approaching when having the right cosmology will save us from falling for Satan’s next big lie. Let’s put our faith in what agrees with the Bible. Let’s be steadfast and immovable in our allegiance to God and his Word. If we show allegiance to Jesus and his Word, we will have nothing of which to be ashamed.

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26 (NKJV)

Lords of the Universe

God gave man dominion over the earth and reserved heaven for himself.

The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men. Psalm 115:16 (NASB95)

When God created the earth, he separated the third heaven from the earth below by creating the solid dome called the firmament. (Genesis 1:7) God sits on his throne atop this structure observing all who dwell on the earth below. (Isaiah 40:22)

Under the influence of Satan, who desires to unseat God from his throne (Isaiah 14:13-14), deluded and rebellious people want to be lords of the heavens, too. The first manifestation of this was the tower of Babel, which was built in hopes of reaching into the heavens, thus making a name for mankind, apart from anything granted to him by God. (Genesis 11) Such unlawful grasping after glory is the exact opposite of the attitude of our Lord Jesus, who humbled himself to become a man to reconcile us to the Creator.

Paul wrote:

who [Jesus], although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:6–11 (NASB95)

As a result of his self-effacing humility and complete submission to God’s will, Jesus has been elevated to the grandest position of all. He sits enthroned with God in heaven as Lord over everything in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. As astounding as this is, there is something perhaps even more wondrous that God has done in Christ.

All who put their faith and allegiance in Jesus the Lord are elevated with him to God’s throne.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4–7 (NASB95)

That which Satan sought illegitimately has been granted to all who receive forgiveness and reconciliation in Christ. The gospel offers this supreme honor to all who will receive it, but mankind’s rebellion knows no bounds.

Those who refuse to bow the knee in submission to our Lord still seek to take the heavens illegitimately. We want to be lords of the universe without any help from God.

lordsAlthough doing such a thing is quite impossible, we imagine we can do it. We dream about it. We fantasize for ourselves a fictional “universe” that we can explore using space ships. We use our amazing technologies of deception to implant the dream of space exploration in the hearts of the young and old alike.

The fictional Copernican – Newtonian universe, complete with its globe earth, has no solid barrier between heaven and earth. In fact, the heaven of the Bible does not even exist, and God is nowhere to be found in this imaginary universe of ours. The only thing impeding us now is the technology to go through something called the Van Allen radiation belts which threaten to kill anyone making the attempt. Oddly, somehow our moon men managed to traverse these belts unscathed long ago, but we apparently lost or destroyed that advanced 1960’s technology and cannot seem to recreate it. (For more information on the amazing technology of that era, I suggest watching Wagging the Moon Doggie video series.) We love movies like the moon landings, ISS videos, Star Trek, and Star Wars, which fuel the fiction that we were destined to roam the heavens at will, going where no man has ever gone before (nor ever will outside of Christ).

As a result of massive deception, fueled by NASA, other space agencies, and the entertainment industry, people love the idea of space exploration and are loathe to be separated from our  rebellious quest to be lords of the universe.

Even many Christians, who ought to know better because of our knowledge of the Bible, have been caught up in this delusional quest. Instead of being content with having dominion over what God has given to us, the earth, we want more and on our own terms. May the Lord open our eyes to see that the heavens belong to God and to those who pledge allegiance to Christ as Lord. There is only one way for us to breach the firmament. His name is Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. For all those who refuse the gospel, heaven is strictly off limits.
